1. The site’s navigation is user-friendly. Don’t try to scare visitors away from your website by making it complicated. Visitors are tired of websites that don’t make sense or are difficult to use; they want websites that are simple, clear, and well-organized.
2. Give your visitors exactly what they’re looking for. Clear and concise writing, well-placed links, and a focused call to action are always rewarded by search engines. Visitors want to see results, and the only way for websites to rank well is to provide what visitors want. Avoid using flashy and often unnecessary graphics and effects. They serve no purpose in the eyes of search engines.
3. Your pages should be linked together. The page’s links serve many purposes. You can improve readability by adding navigation to your sites, linking to your homepage or other sites, anchor text your links, or even anchor texting a link to a distant site that has no relation to your own. In this way, the links act like words and seem to gain importance as they spread. However, there is a fine line between providing information about something and providing a search engine-friendly “vote of confidence.” Make sure that you stay away from any manipulation of links.
4. Make appropriate use of headings. Headings may be used as keyword anchors and to split up your content and make it easier to read. If you use the heading H1 as an example, search engines will recognize it as such and index it for the term “H1.” But be careful. You do not want to overdo it.
5. Use plain, simple text. While graphics and animations might be useful for a while, you should eventually return to plain text. This is because Google and other search engines can read your page’s text without these “distractions.” You’re providing Google and other search engines information rather than allowing them to read your website for information. Make sure that the text is informative, useful, and not just used for any purpose.
6. Write for your audience, not for the search engines. This is important, but you must avoid stuffing the content with keywords and links. They will be ignored by Google. Keywords and links must be scattered throughout the text if you want them to appear on your page. On the other hand, keep in mind that you want to deliver useful and helpful content. For example, instead of “click here,” put “view article” as a link and text. You are offering helpful information and links to your visitors and search engines in this way.
Image Optimization
Take the time to optimize your images since image optimization is still important to Google. Some online tools can help you optimize your images. You may also look for other websites that allow you to use and re-distribute their images on your page. To make this work, you’ll need to make sure the HTML code is properly formatted and contains relevant keywords. You must also ensure that the alt tags are relevant. The better your images are optimized, the higher your ranking will be. As a result, taking the time to optimize your images is highly recommended.
On-Page SEO
Although many of the tips I’ve given today have to do with links, on-page SEO is as important. The more links your site has, the more value Google will give it. This is because the more links you have, Google considers your site to be more significant. This is great for your search engine rankings. This means that you should make every effort to get as many links as possible. While links are still an important part of search engine optimization, you need also to make sure that your sites contain the right keywords.
This does not, however, mean that you should spam your links. Instead, attempt to get relevant links. Relevance is a little harder to attain. If you can gain a link from a website that has similar information to yours, it will be considered more relevant. As such, if you can take the time to get relevant links, it will be more important for them to include your site’s information.
